Paragliding in Andalucia today

Ramon Morillas

The Cenes take off is the lighter point in the middle,
just above where the almost vertical road on the ridge
meets the horisontal road.

Today, the wind was somewhat weaker, so we went to a flying site called Cenes, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains just behinds Granada. You can actually see the Alhambra from the air if you look carefully.
I had a 70 minutes thermalling flight in quite broken up and bumpy conditions. Still nice to be in the air, though.

Turns out that Ramon Morillas lives close to the take off, so we went to visit him. He is a paramotor pilot that set many records, and he will also compete in X-Alps this year, as he did last time.
Today he tried a new motor with oxygen feed for high altitude, then set off to try to set a new world record in altitude! I had the chance to take some photos and have a short interview.
