No flying but good food

The first day of my paragliding week in Almunecar was a very windy one. So no flying :-(

But luckily, there is a Feria Gastronomica going on this weekend, with many local restaurants presenting their best food and wine. This is an opportunity to good to miss, so I had both lunch and dinner there.

For lunch, aspargus wrapped in ham and gratinated with cheese, then salmorejo (Andalucian gazpacho) with boiled egg, stripes of ham and cooked tonge. Didn't really like the tongue, but the rest was very good.

Dinner was another affair, starting with a ragu on venison cooked in Ximenex sweet sherry and then Argentinian meet fried on a hot stone. To that, small glasses of appropiate red wine. As dessert, a little nibble of a fantastic aged goat & sheep cheese and some very good local wine (the best one was Senorio de Nevada 2005 - Cab Sauv & Merlot).

Walking home under the Andalucian full moon, listening to some beautiful music, I was rather satisfied with my day, despite the lack of flying. But I miss Femke.
