Brilliant flight from Itovar to the coast

What a brilliant flight!

We took off from Otivar (900 meter above sea level) with the snow clad Sierra Nevada looming in the background. After quite a while of thermalling around and behind the take off, I finally reached an altitude of close to 500 meter above take off and could follow after Dirk to the next waypoint, at the mountain called Pyramid.

Here, more thermalling was done, until we had height enough to cross over to the ridge with the lone tree. Next waypoint is called Twin Peaks, and from here, we could follow a ridge until we were close to the coast and the village of Herradura.

Landing on the beach, after 1 hour and 44 minutes in the air (and covering 17 kilometers via waypoints), we were all smiles! Perhaps not a very long flight, but somewhat challenging and lots fo fun.

You can find the track of the flight here.
